The Friends of the Library provide volunteers, special
programs, and financial assistance to enhance library services. As a
Friend, you benefit by receiving fact-filled
The Doorway newsletters, cultural trips, literary
programs, Book-Author luncheons, Great Decision discussions, and many
volunteer opportunities. By being a Friend the Library benefits from
increased video and book purchases, new reference resources, state of
the art equipment purchases, programs for children and adults and
increased community visibility.

Homebound Services
|
Books, magazines, videos and audiocassettes are
delivered free through the Homebound service. To use this service,
you must be a Simsbury resident temporarily or permanently confined
to your home due to illness, disability, or advanced age. Homebound
volunteers will select material, deliver it to your home, and return
it to the library. |

Homebound patrons may call in their requests for library materials
on Thursdays
from 10 - 11:30 AM by phoning
the library at (860) 658-7663 ext. 2601. A volunteer will take your
call and arrange for the loan of your materials. |

| To
register, please provide the volunteers with your name, address,
phone number, and any special reading needs and interests. If you do
not own a library card, or it has expired, volunteers can arrange to
have a new one made for you. |
Meetings
| The Board of the Friends of the Library
meets every third Thursday of the month in the Library's Program
Room from Noon - 2 PM.
The meetings are open to the public. |
