Turning Your Home or Office into a Branch Library

Did you know that you can turn your home or office into a branch of the
Simsbury Public Library? All you need is Internet access and your Simsbury
Public Library card with its 14-digit barcode on the back.
Use the Library's Catalog
Visit the Simsbury Public Library at
www.simsburylibrary.info
Click on Search the Catalog.
Click on the link to CONNECT. You will be accessing the Library's Catalog.
Click on the Search Simsbury Public Library’s Catalog box.
Enter your search and click on the blue Search button.
Place a Hold on An Item That’s Checked Out
Visit the Simsbury Public Library at
www.simsburylibrary.info
Click on Search the Catalog.
Click on the link to CONNECT. You will be accessing the Library's Catalog.
Click on the Search Simsbury Public Library’s Catalog box.
Enter your search and click on the blue Search button.
Click on the Details button for the title you’re interested in. This will
bring you to the Item Information box. If the item that is owned by Simsbury
Public Library is checked out, you can place a hold.
To place a hold, click on the Place Hold link located on the left-side of
the screen.
Enter your 14-digit library card number. It is the barcode on the back of
your library card.
Enter your PIN. If you haven’t previously chosen a PIN, type in CHANGEME
as your PIN.
Click on the Place Hold button.
You will see a message confirming that the hold was placed.
Click on OK.
Click on the Logout button to insure your privacy.
You will receive a phone call when the item is available for pick up at
the Library’s Circulation Desk.
Access Your Library Account
Visit the Simsbury Public Library at
www.simsburylibrary.info
Click on Search the Catalog.
Click on the link to CONNECT. You will be accessing the Library's Catalog.
Click on the Renew My Materials, Review My Account box.
Under My Account, you can review your account, renew materials or change
your PIN.
Click on the Review My Account link.
- Enter your 14-digit library card number. It is the barcode on the back of
your library card.
- Enter your PIN. If you haven’t previously chosen a PIN, type in CHANGEME
as your PIN.
- Click on Display User Information.
- You will find a display of your checkouts, holds, and bills.
- Click on the Logout button to insure your privacy.
Renew Library Materials
Visit the Simsbury Public Library at
www.simsburylibrary.info
Click on Search the Catalogs.
Click on the link to CONNECT. You will be accessing the Library's Catalog.
Click on the Renew My Materials, Review My Account box.
Under My Account, you can review your account, renew materials or change
your PIN.
Click on the Renew My Materials link.
- Enter your 14-digit library card number. It is the barcode on the back of
your library card.
- Enter your PIN. If you haven’t previously chosen a PIN, type in CHANGEME
as your PIN.
- Click on List Charged Items
- You can renew a single item or all of the items that you have checked out
on your library card.
- Check off the items that you want to renew; then click on Renew Selected
Items.
- You will see a confirm that will tell you if your renewal was successful.
- Click on the Logout button to insure your privacy.
Conduct Research from Your Home or Office
Visit the Simsbury Public Library at
www.simsburylibrary.info
Click on Search the Catalog.
- Choose the type of resource that you wish to use: periodicals; newspapers;
business databases; literary criticism; academic resources; health
information; and homework help.
- To access some of these powerful reference and research, full-text
databases, Simsbury residents will need their library card with its 14-digit
barcode on the back.
