Notary Service
  • Notary appointments are available Monday to Friday 9:30am-4:30pm. To schedule an appointment, please dial the Information Desk at 860-658-7663, press #2. Due to demand, walk-in appointments are not available.
  • You will need two forms of identification, one being your driver’s license (if you do not have a driver’s license, a photo ID with your signature on it) and another signed item (credit card, passport, permit, work ID). Do not sign any paperwork until instructed by the notary.
Passport Service 

You may apply for a NEW passport at the Simsbury Public Library. Applications are accepted through appointment only. Before scheduling an appointment, we suggest you visit the official website for the most current up-to-date passport and international travel information and our tip sheet

Please note: We are unable to take passport photos. Passport photos are regulated by law and need to fit legal requirements, 2″ X 2″. Passport photos can be taken at:

  • CVS, 714 Hopmeadow Street, Simsbury, (860) 651-1440
  • Walmart, 255 W Main St, Avon, (860) 409-0408
  • Your local AAA office, 70 E Main St, Avon (860) 409-2800

    The self-service machine takes debit or credit cards. Special cards for faxing may be purchased at the Information Desk.

  • Copy machines – Charge is .15 cents per page to copy (b&w) Color copies are .50 cents per page.

  • Sewing machines*
  • Embroidery machine*
  • Button maker*
  • Switch (In-Library use only-ask at circulation desk)

*Part of the Innovators’ Workshop. A liability form (or liability form for minors) will be required to use the equipment.
