Winter/Spring
- Great Decisions is a nationally based program run by the Foreign Policy Association. The FPA provides local groups with 8 current topics for discussion. Simsbury has two groups. Each meets weekly for 8 consecutive sessions lasting approximately 1 ½ hours. A summary of each topic is contained in a program guide, and consists of 10-12 pages of background material as well as optional references. Several questions are also provided which can serve to frame the discussion. A volunteer leads every session, and group members are encouraged to participate to whatever degree they feel comfortable. The guides will be for sale at the Information desk at the end of 2024, for $30 (cash or check only). A list of the topics is available at the FPA website: www.fpa.org. Please note that the discussion groups do not necessarily follow the order of topics as presented in the guide and the Library will not have info on what subject is being discussed on any particular date.
- A morning group will commence on January 7th . That group will meet from 10 – 11:30am. If you would like to join us or have questions, please contact Greg Golinski at 860-658-0537 or even better: Gregory_golinski@yahoo.com.
- There is an evening group that meets from 6:30 – 8:00pm on Mondays, beginning on February 28th . If you are interested in joining or have any questions about the evening group, please contact Charlie Dahlberg at 860-658-2577 or cwdahlberg@hotmail.com.
