In 2023, we expanded the Library Spice Club to include offerings of herbs, flavorings, and combinations of spices with FLAVOR OF THE MONTH.

This program features local and worldwide flavors and connects them to our collection of materials, sharing samples with library visitors every month.

In 2024, we began featuring local restaurants and bakeries each month where they share a little bit more about who they are, how they serve the community, and maybe a recipe or two!

This month, May 2024, we are featuring Herbaceous as the Flavor and Harvest Café and Bakery, 1390 Hopmeadow Street, Simsbury, as the restaurant.

We’ll be sharing our monthly folder with the Harvest Café and Bakery’s information, general information on herbs and our featured herb, Thyme, and recipes from the cookbooks from our cookbook collection.

We also have cookbooks from our collection ready for checkout – all of this goodness is located next to the main entrance on the upper level of the Library.
